Pandemic disruptions have put American students behind in school, and in no subject is this felt more keenly than in mathematics. Our elementary school students are struggling to meet state standards and need help bridging the COVID learning gap.
We’re looking for seniors aged 55+ interested in donating a few hours a week to help a child with their math homework and provide encouragement/mentorship.
Our program is 100% online, making it possible to volunteer from virtually anywhere with an internet connection. No traveling to a school site. No COVID worries!
We ask volunteers to make a 3-5 day/week commitment. Tutoring sessions will last roughly 15-45 minutes. Volunteers will be paired with a single student for the duration of the school year. Our program follows the school calendar with holidays and summer off.
We provide you with math and technology training, and offer ongoing support to our volunteers. All you need to provide is the space in your heart and schedule to help a child in need.
This program is powered by a grant from the amazing folks at AmeriCorps Seniors. This organization of service-minded individuals truly represents the best of America. In joining the Volunteer Mathematics Tutoring Program, you’ll become a part of this incredible community of givers.
Are you ready to help change the academic future of a child?
